At the Academy you will find a range of the best local and international films with a selection of documentaries, romantic comedies, dramas and thrillers. We host a variety of special events which include nights dedicated to LGBTQ cinema, director spotlights and cult movies. Our program and diligent service has awarded us the title of the 'Best Cinema in New Zealand, 2014' by AIDA (Australian Independent Distributors Association).
We offer a wide range of locally sourced beverages from Kokako coffee's to Stoke beers. Our delicious Kapiti ice cream is also a locale product that is hand rolled and chocolate dipped by our staff. In addition to that we serve gluten free popcorn and ciders.
