Moving With Clave: Afro Dance Workshops

Moving With Clave is a set of two workshops that focuses on learning and securing the feel of the essential clave 3:2 rhythm that is fundamental to Rumba, Son, Salsa and many West African traditional and contemporary rhythms such as Afrobeats.

The first workshop, Musical Shines, will teach you how to tap into the many rhythmic layers to inspire improvised "Shines".

The second workshop, Warrior Dances, will introduce you to traditional movements from several warrior rhythms from Guinea, Cuba and Brazil, and is designed to challenge your endurance while maintaining self-composure as we heat things up.
