A free kids Matariki discovery workshop where kids can learn the traditional art of harakeke (flax weaving) while also gaining further understanding on the significance of Matariki. The kids will make their very own Matariki whetū under the guidance of Edith Rolls. They will then hang their stars on a native tree while remembering those who have passed, or make a wish for the year to come. A lovely way for the kids to discover Matariki. Various times available during the school holidays. These workshops are free, thanks to the support of the Creative Communities Scheme, but bookings are essential as numbers are strictly limited. Register through Eventfinda to secure your space. All materials included. Includes 1 x adult and 1 x child entrance to Cobblestones. Limited to 2 tickets per person.
