Taranaki has a lot to offer! Join our Arts Trail and meet Oakura artist’s in their studios. Free entry so grab a friend, our map and go explore!

(Follow our turquoise & yellow flags)
Maps are also available at the New Plymouth i-Site.

Our Oakura artists are opening up their studios so you can enjoy workshops, demonstrations and opportunities to buy a unique piece of art.

After we have 12 months to prepare, we are excited to display new designs, projects we have been working on this year and creations in the making.

Just a 12 minute drive from New Plymouth there are more than 15 studios nestled between a great surf beach and the Kaitake ranges.

Most of our artists have been influenced by the stunning Taranaki scenery. Also over the years we have been lucky to attract high profile artists from around New Zealand and the world to our little community.

Every studio tells a different story where they live and work and we would like to invite you to have a look behind our workbenches and get the chance to purchase a unique piece of art.

Browse through our studios of felters, glass artists, jewellers, painters, photographers, potters and sculptors. Groups are welcome.

You can grab a free copy of our map at our information board next to the Oakura pharmacy or at the New Plymouth I-site.

Some artists offer workshops for all ages whilst others host group visits throughout the year. Check out our workshop and exhibition section so you don’t miss out.

To make it a bit easier for you, every studio is marked with a large bali flag, so look out for our turquoise and yellow flags!

To stay in contact with our artists you can also join us on Facebook!
