We’ve headed over the Crown Range from Queenstown, and have opened the 21st Lone Star restaurant in Wanaka, the gateway to Mt. Aspiring National Park and one of the most picturesque places in Aotearoa, if not the world.

Surrounded by mountains and nestled beside a rock-climbing wall at 50 Cardrona Valley Road, the Lone Star Wanaka restaurant cuts an imposing, dramatic figure, none more so than after dark when its spectacular lighting renders it a sight to behold. It is one of the most aesthetically impressive Lone Stars to date, and the good folk from Wanaka have been suitably impressed since our opening on the 1st of December, 2009.

Situated a mere 3 minute drive from Wanaka township, our restaurant can comfortably seat 80 guests, while 2 separate function rooms (one upstairs, one down ) will cater for another 160 people. Both rooms have their own bar, and the view from upstairs balcony is breathtaking- the stunning vista is Central Otago at its best- akin to a Graham Sydney painting. Equally as visually stimulating is our outdoor entertainment area where you can also dine and enjoy a drink al fresco, watching aspiring mountaineers take on the climbing wall, while your children (if you have any) can entertain themselves in the playground. Our main bar on the ground floor is well appointed, luxurious and also has an outdoor area in which to relax.

Car-parking is not a problem, and if you don’t want to drive, we offer a courtesy coach to collect your group and deposit you safely home at the conclusion of your evening.

The Lone Star restaurant in Wanaka has to be seen to be believed. Open for dinner 7 days a week, we offer something for everyone. We look forward to the pleasure of your company soon.
