As a college we believe strongly in the importance of traditional values and encourage our students to show respect, take responsibility, be considerate of others, work hard at their learning and take pride in both themselves and their school.
Our focus is on providing a purposeful direction for each of our students. We believe that learning must be purposeful and we expect our students to develop an understanding of their interests and abilities so that they can be supported in developing a purposeful direction for their lives beyond the school gates.
Classroom learning is our priority, it is what matters most. We believe and expect that every student is capable of learning and achieving success with the appropriate challenge and support. Learning and career pathways are mapped out for each student as they move through their college years.
A sense of identitiy is important for our young people. Knowing who we are is critical to looking to the future with confidence. Our students are taught the story of our school, our area and our nation and we encourage them to take pride in being Hauraki and New Zealanders. Learning to become responsible citizens who participate and contribute to our school and the wider community are important aspects of our school culture.
Our aim is not just to be a good school but a great school. Great schools dare to care, they offer a future and a hope, teach young people to dream and show them how to make these dreams a reality. Great schools believe that every single student is talented in some way. They say to their students: "you can be someone if you are prepared to work for it." Good schools do things well, great schools have a hum of excellence.
