After a sell-out first concert with Tigilau Ness in August, Jubilation is taking their gospel/reggae/choral collab out west to the mighty village of New Lynn!
The show brings together Aotearoa reggae legend Tigi Ness and Ponsonby’s own Jubilation Choir for a feast of reggae, blues and gospel. Expect some new Tigi songs in the mix, music legend Chris O’Connor ( Phoenix Foundation & From Scratch) on percussion and plenty of life-affirming, joyful harmonising.

Jubilation Choir has been celebrating the naked human voice in all its glory since they got together 25 years ago to sing gospel, blues and soul – now, for the first time, these artists are honoured to join forces in songs of resistance & redemption with a founding father of reggae in Aotearoa, Tigilau Ness (honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Pacific Music Awards and a Tui for Best Roots Album at the NZ Music Awards.)

“I joined a bevy of others in the sold-out community hall and had our spirits massaged and lifted by the Jubilation Choir. Then, in the second half of the show, we were taken to another level of consciousness by Tigilau’s waiata. Jubilation is contemplating another concert. If you see it advertised, go!” Denis O'Reilly | Aug 25, 2024 for E-TANGATA

Doors open @ 5.00 pm, show starts @ 6.00 pm.
Bar & refreshments are available at the venue.
