Step into the profound realm of Kamiria Mullen (Ngāti Toa Rangatira, Ngāti Awa) as we gather to celebrate the launch of her powerful new book, "Hide No More." Kamiria, a remarkable poet and artist, embraces her journey with an unwavering commitment to truth, resilience, and her whakapapa. Ngati Poneke Maori Arts proudly presents Kamiria Mullen's published poetry as part of Te Whakanui i a Matariki. About the Book In "Hide No More," Kamiria courageously explores themes such as sexual abuse, addiction, and intergenerational trauma. Her poetry provides an intimate and challenging reflection on the shadows many endure. Her kupu are a testament to the strength within every survivor, celebrating resilience and offering a path to breaking cycles and healing. Kamiria shares her story to show all iwi that it is possible to move from being a survivor to a thriver. As her eldest moko says, “We are no longer survivors, Nan. We are thrivers!” Join us Nau mai ki tō tātou nei marae. We cordially invite you to Pipitea Marae to listen, reflect, and share in the journey that Kamiria's words will take us on.
