Thirty years ago, Mum the sea lion gave birth to the first pup on the mainland for 150 years.
Celebrate your local pakake / NZ Sea Lions at this family-friendly event lead by DOC and the NZ Sea Lion Trust.
They’ll be lots of activities for all ages – make your own pakakë to take home, discover what they like to eat, have a go at making an origami pakakë, watch a short doco centered around local Janet Ledingham who has been a sea lion for 30 years, learn who lives in your neighborhood and more.
