An introduction to the cutting-edge research taking place at the Lions Ōtari Plant Conservation Laboratory.
This week, instead of a walk, you'll have the opportunity to visit New Zealand's only native plant laboratory and delve into the ongoing research dedicated to preserving our endangered species. Karin van der Walt, Conservation Scientist at Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush, will discuss various ongoing projects, spanning from majestic kauri trees to minuscule native orchids and their symbiotic mycorrhizal fungi.
Meet at Tāne Whakapiripiri, Ōtari Visitor Centre.
This is part of the Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush Trust’s annual autumn guided walks programme.
Join the Trust for only $20 for an individual or $30 for a double/family for a year and all the walks will be free, as well as other great benefits. https://friendsofthewellingtonbotanic.wordpress.com/join-us/
