Want to know more about the special plants and fauna living at Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush? The Ōtari-Wilton's Bush Trust's annual programme of Sunday guided walks offers the opportunity to explore with the experts, discover where all these special things live and learn more about them and what’s being done to protect them.
For this week's walk, you'll learn all about invasive weeds. At last count, more than 150 weed species have been noted within Wellington City Council reserves! Illona Keenan, the council’s weed specialist, will discuss the challenges of managing weeds in the city, then lead a walk to discover and discuss the problems these invasive species cause.
Easy walking although sensible walking shoes are recommended. Family groups are welcome.
Meet at the Ōtari Visitor Centre, Tāne Whakapiripiri at 2pm.
All walks are free to Trust members, you can sign-up through their website shown above.
