Join local author Melanie Drewery (Matariki, Nanny Mihi) as she sings songs, and reads stories about the ngahere (forest). Learn about rongoā (traditional Māori medicine), taste delicious kawakawa tea, and spend the afternoon exploring the beautiful Brook Waimārama Sanctuary.

The entry fees include all day entry to the Sanctuary, so why not come early and perhaps enjoy a family picnic in the Sanctuary before joining us and Melanie at 2pm in the Beech Glade.

As this event is being held in the Beech Glade, numbers are capped at 50 people.

This event is part of Conservation Week 2023 - www.conservationweek.org.nz (external site)
