Risingholme Park and Homestead Tour

Celebrate Christchurch Heritage Festival this October and tour 159 years of history at Risingholme!

Come along on a guided tour of the Category 2 listed historic homestead and its beautiful park surroundings featuring several species from around the world, including a large native Kauri. A special timeline display showcasing aspects of Risingholme’s long-standing history has also been created for this event and will be available to view as part of the tour. Refreshments will be served in the homestead following the tour.

What began in 1864 as a homestead and grounds for a number of Ōtautahi Christchurch’s prominent families has now become a special place for the community to gather and learn for almost 80 years! To celebrate this important legacy we have also specially created display panels showcasing the history of the homestead and park which will be displayed alongside some recently found archives and student works.
