Peter Koopman Trio

For the past decade, guitarist, composer and New Zealander Peter Koopman has called Sydney home. Drawing inspiration from Australia’s rich and diverse music scene, he has developed a unique voice on the guitar, and was awarded first place at the prestigious National Jazz Awards held at the Wangaratta jazz festival in Victoria in 2022. He is also sought-after as a sideman, having performed around Australia and internationally with artists such as Vince Jones, Katie Noonan, Aloe Blacc, Donny Benét and Matt McMahon among others.

Joining Peter will be long-time musical associate and fellow ex-pat Thomas Botting on bass and young up-and-comer George Greenhill on the drums. Together they will present a program of Peter’s originals from his new album Now Where, as well as some newer originals and a standard or two.
