BBQ Competitions have become increasingly popular here in New Zealand, with BBQ enthusiasts now regularly coming together to compete at a sanctioned event somewhere in the Country almost every week! Contestants not only compete for attractive cash and prizes but also for competition points so they can ascend the NZ Competition Ladder to ultimately become the National Champion!
There is also a much desired Golden Ticket on the line - there's a golden ticket to be won in each category - giving the winner a direct entry to compete at the SCA World Championships held in Fort Worth, Texas, USA every year! This year in March, we traveled with 12 New Zealand contestants (9 from Canterbury!) to Fort Worth. Texas who very successfully competed with more than 500 others over 3 days. Next year....?

2-2:30pm 2nd Steak Turn
3-3:30pm Kids Burger Turn In
4:00pm Awards Presentation
