Come on down to Taputeranga Marine Reserve and join Mountains to Sea Wellington for one of our free summer community snorkel events.

Proudly supported by Greater Wellington Regional Council, this is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to see the beauty of our underwater world.

NOTE: This event was planned for January 28, but was postponed due to weather conditions and is now happening on Feb 11.

Take a peek at the fascinating array of marine organisms that live right here on our doorstep, out of sight, just under the surface. We will have local ocean experts joining us on dry land to share their knowledge on seaweed, sponges and many other amazing creatures found along our coastline.

Beginner snorkelers are encouraged (but you must be comfortable in the water). We provide all the gear free of charge and will also buddy you up with an experienced snorkel guide to facilitate the best experience possible. Our guides will get you kitted out, answer any fishy questions you might have and generally look after you whilst you take a dive into the salt and spray.

If you click ‘attending’ on the Facebook event (https://fb.me/e/2mKVGe2PL), you’ll receive important information and updates, including location changes and postponement due to weather.

What to bring: Togs, towel, sunhat, warm clothes, drink bottle and snacks.

Please note the minimum age for snorkelling is 8 years, and children below 16 must be accompanied by a snorkelling adult.
The exact location for registrations and snorkelling will be decided a few days out, depending on weather conditions - please check the Facebook event on the day.
Last registrations at 3pm.
