Join us for a community planting day to restore the ngahere (forest) at Ōtari-Wilton's Bush! Thanks to our incredible community, we've cleared an impressive amount of rubbish from the slip below Wilton Park. Together with Ōtari-Wilton's Bush Trust and Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne, we are making this opportunity available to the local community to help us return native forest to the area devastated by the slip.

The planting starts at 10am, meeting at the slip site, located 300m upstream of Troup Picnic Area. If you're not familiar with the spot, head down to Troup Picnic Area, and between 9:45-10am, we'll have someone there to show you the way. Please be on time for the welcome and Health and Safety briefing.

After a few hours of planting, we'll take a break at 12pm for a BBQ lunch on us at Troup Lawn. Then, we'll continue planting until 2pm.

This planting event is best suited for adults and older children, as there may still be glass and rubbish in the soil. No prior experience is needed, and we'll provide gloves and spades, although bringing your own would be greatly appreciated. Don't forget to wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.

In case of unfavourable weather, the event will be postponed to the following day (Sunday 13) or the next Saturday, 19 August. We'll make a decision on Thursday, 10 August. Keep an eye on this event page for updates.
