Three friends (Callum Allardice, Jake Baxendale and Matt Steele) join forces to create a one-night-only experience of vivacious, unapologetic modern jazz. Each offers up a handful of their choicest compositions and together, aided and abetted by one of Aotearoa's most in-demand rhythm sections (Johnny Lawrence, Cory Champion), create music of such immediacy and pure intention that you can't help but be moved!

Returning to Pōneke from his home in Melbourne, pianist Matt Steele has shared the stage with many luminaries of Australian and New Zealand music, including James and John Morrison, Yusupha Ngum And The Affia Band at the iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, and as a featured soloist on the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards Album Of The Year 2019, Avantdale Bowling Club.

Guitarist Callum Allardice is a three-time winner of the APRA Best Jazz Composition Award and was the inaugural New Zealand School of Music Jazz Composer in Residence in 2022. He has performed throughout Aotearoa, Australia and South Korea with The Jac, Antipodes, Old King Cole and his own groups, most notably leading his big band Cinematic Light Orchestra.

Saxophonist Jake Baxendale is a fixture of the Wellington scene, performing in party bands Richter City Rebels, Bazurka and JB3 as well as presenting original jazz and improvised music through the Arthur Street Loft Orchestra and with his own projects, Gardening Music and Striking Moments. He has collaborated with Allardice for over a decade, having appeared together on a dozen albums and a score of national and international tours.
