Swiss-NZ pianist and composer Alex Ventling is becoming one of New Zealand’s finest jazz exports. He is a ‘European Jazz Master’ graduate, and lives and tours in Europe. In this rare returning-home concert, Alex teams up with the highest calibre of local musicians for a unique collaboration.
Now residing in Norway, the Scandinavian sound is ever so present in Alex’s compositions and improvisational approach. Perhaps it’s the fjords and mountains or perceptions of space, that connect the two polar-opposite countries. Let yourself be transported in this concert.
