The Wellington Mingus Ensemble is back, and with a new supply of different Mingus compositions.
This heavy-hitting big band of top Wellington musicians plays the music of its namesake Charles Mingus, one of the most notable composers of the 20th century and a revered icon of Black American Music, Blues and political art.
Ragingly charismatic melodies meet dense impressionistic orchestration and deep blues language in some of the most stunning music of the last century - don't miss out!
