The inaugural Lunar New Year Festival celebrates everything Asian – rebranded from the much-loved Chinese New Year Festival.

This year recognises the element Water, so we’re welcoming in the Year of the Water Tiger, and acknowledging each of the five elements.

Online: East Meets West // Wood Tiger, 1-12 February
A showcase of contemporary and traditional Asian performing arts inspired by artists born in the year of the Wooden Tiger.

Online: Cultural Entertainment // Fire & Water Tiger, 1-12 February
The eagerly awaited Cultural Entertainment stage show will entertain and delight bringing participants to on-screen life with colour and excitement.

Event: 'Elements of the Tiger' - A Tiger Trail, 1-12 February
Fire, Water, Metal, Wood and Earth Tigers are as large as life!
Visit us online to find out where our unique tiger sculptures are located and follow the tiger trail!

Event: Dance of the Metal Tiger // Metal Tiger, 2-12 Feb
Partnered with Wellington Museum, 3 Jervois Quay
A programme of dance films and community workshops, including a new dance film inspired by the Metal Tiger presented by internationally acclaimed film maker and choreographer, Daniel Belton.
