Award-winning Master Printer, Graham Judd, will lead two half-day Letterpress Xmas Card Workshops on Friday, 9th and Saturday, 10th December before The Museum's Xmas Fair (1-4pm). Participants will choose designs from a range of blocks, metal and wood type, linotype slugs, photopolymer plates and stocks to print 50 A6 folded personalised cards supplied with matching envelopes. A range of printing presses will be used, including a Vandercook and an Albion. This workshop is the perfect introduction to the techniques of letterpress printing. For those who have done it before, it's a chance to explore new things and try out the presses. A more extensive full-day class will be held on Sunday 11th.
Venue: WCBA, Wellington Centre for Book Arts, Woolstore Building, 262 Thorndon Quay, Wellington
Time: Friday 10th Dec 6 - 9.30pm, Saturday 11th Dec 9.00am to 12.30pm, Sunday 11th Dec 9.00am to 4.30pm.
Cost: $100 (less 10% for Printing Museum members). $200 for full day class.
Places are limited and can only be confirmed by payment.
Classes are a maximum of 6-8, so book early.
