Kids School Holiday Programmes at the Waitangi MTB Park

The Waitangi Mountain Bike Park School Holiday Program provides the opportunity for kids with the passion of Mountain Biking to develop their skills in a fun, safe and controlled environment. Catering to ages from 7-12 years of age.

Each week, we have three different 2 Day Sessions running, to allow the kids to be matched with those of similar age and riding abilities. It also means they meet some new buddies for future meet-up rides.

Dates:
Ages 7-8: 20th & 21st Dec | 17th & 18th Jan | 24th & 25th Jan
Ages 9-10: 22nd & 23rd Dec | 19th & 20th Jan | 26th & 27th Jan
Ages 11-12: 19th & 20th Dec | 16th & 17th Jan | 23rd & 24th Jan

To ensure maximum progression over the 2 Days, the program is led by a Qualified Professional Mountain Bike Instructor, and each group is kept to a 1:8 ratio (1 instructor to 8 children).

Students will work on the MTB fundamentals and riding techniques, pump track skills plus some valuable bike setup and maintenance workshops. Riding Grade 2 and 3 Tracks within the Waitangi Mountain Bike Park.

All riders must be comfortable riding a bike on at least on Grade 2 Tracks. Those who already feel pretty ace on a bike, and currently ride Grade 3-4 Tracks, will find huge benefit being taught the correct body positioning and skills, as it will mean you can hit tracks with more confidence and speed.
