Women`s Surfing Weekend

Learn to surf, build ocean confidence and have fun! A day surfing programme designed to help women of all ages and skill levels learn to surf, improve their surfing skills and build more confidence in the ocean.

Small group bookings only, all equipment provided (beginner friendly surfboards, wetsuits and your meals).

Led by sports educator and professional surfer Anna Jolly and co-founder of Piha Surf Academy and passionate surfer Chelsea. They both, together organize and actively support surfing workshops for girls. Anna and Chelsea are the best qualified instructors in Piha, providing focused individual attention and a leading student teacher ratio of 3:1 to enable this. We have created a women specific surf program designed with women in mind. Our fun surf sessions have seen many stand up on a board after their very first time on a board!

PROGRAMME

DAY 1 – FRIDAY – Arrive at Te Wahi Ora (before dinner if possible)

6PM DINNER After dinner we`ll watch the sunset from the upstairs deck or stroll across the road to the beach to immerse ourselves in natural beauty. By witnessing the beauty and awe of the sunset, you can slow down and unwind ready for the weekend.

DAY 2 – SATURDAY

9:30AM INTRODUCTION

A 15 min introduction into the Surfing Weekend programme.

09:30AM DEPARTURE 1.5 hours surfing lesson with Anna Jolly. Will teach you how to surf, talk about surf etiquette, beach & water safety and hazard awareness.

11:30AM RETURN

01:00PM LUNCH a nutritious meal provided

03:00PM 45min GENTLE YIN YOGA OR FREE TIME

06:00PM DINNER conversations on transformational power of ocean, photo sharing on the TV screen

DAY 2 – SUNDAY

09:30AM DEPARTURE 1.5 hours surfing lesson with Anna Jolly. Rehearsal of yesterday`s lesson and catching waves and having fun in the ocean

11:30AM RETURN

01:00PM LUNCH final sharing, conversations, photo exchange

2:30PM – … DEPART – You`ll return home relaxed and refreshed with a healthy dose of inspiration. This is an experience of creating habits to take with you long after you leave the Piha beach.

Cost will be our usual weekend prices (depending on your accommodation choice)+$50 KOHA

Seaview Suite and Daisy Lounge: $520 for 2 nights. All meals included.

Standard Accommodation: $360 for 2 nights. All meals included.

Beneficiary Rate: $280 for 2 nights. All meals included.

Once your booking is accepted a deposit of $75 is required. The deposit needs to be paid into the Te Wahi Ora Trust A/c 12-3232-0135899-00 to secure your booking.

If a cancellation must happen, your deposit can be transferred to any other weekend retreat.
