The Living Wood Fair is a 2-day community event exploring the wonderful world of wood, including:
- All aspects of forestry
- Environmental stewardship
- Creative arts, wood and bush crafts
- Natural building
We have a wide range of activities on offer including:
- Live demonstrations, displays, kids’ zone, information hub, market and food stalls.
- The Workshop Zone hosts indoor and outdoor hands-on workshops.
- Inspiring and informative presentations and panel discussions in the Te Uru Rākau Kōrero Zone
- Local live music and display of artworks.
Who is the Living Wood Fair for?
Families, lifestyle and forestry block owners, farmers, woodworkers and millers, self-builders and tiny home enthusiasts, forestry advocates, environmentalists, forestry and building businesses and industry specialists. And anyone that loves TREES!
The workshops are always popular and this year we have almost doubled the number and variety of them: Spoon Carving, Taonga Puoro Wānanga, Ti Kouka String Making, Ti Kouka basket weaving, Foraging and Cooking, Eco printing, Blacksmithing, Earth Building, Light Earth Building, Traditional Timber Frame Joinery and Fruit Tree Pruning to name a few. Living Wood Fair day & weekend tickets include entry to ALL AREAS including demonstrations, presentations, market and Kids Makers Space & Bushcraft Zone.
