In a style that pays homage to the masters of Italian ‘Commedia All’Italiana’(see also Marriage Italian Style), Il Tuttofare is a brilliant satire, poking a sharp stick at the legal profession in Italy … although it could just as easily be NZ or the US.
Master Italian actor/director, Sergio Castellitto plays Professor Toti Bellastella, a Criminal Law professor with comedic relish. When he takes on Antonio as a legal assistant to work for him, he sees an opportunity to garner his Argentinian mistress Italian citizenship by making them marry. Antonio is forced to weigh up his conscience against his ambitions.
Watching the seemingly endless unethical tricks of the legal profession has never been so much fun.
Behind the elegant, beautifully dressed and mannered facade of the legal fraternity, all sorts of mischief is peeled back. Director Valerio Attanasio, his cast and crew seem to be relishing making fun of the legal fraternity petty bureaucrats and, of course, political power.
