Galaxy Quest in the Planetarium

Never give up! Never Surrender! This November re-live what some have called the perfect comedy sci-fi with the 1998 classic film Galaxy Quest in our Perpetual Guardian Planetarium.

Join an all-star cast featuring Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, and Alan Rickman as they set off on a thrilling and dangerous space mission. The stars of a 1970s sci-fi show – now scraping a living through re-runs and sci-fi conventions – are beamed aboard an alien spacecraft. Believing the cast's heroic on-screen dramas are historical documents of real-life adventures, a band of aliens turn to the ailing celebrities for help in their quest to overcome the oppressive regime in their solar system.

Sci-Fi screenings take place once a month in Otago Museum's Perpetual Guardian Planetarium. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase from the Museum Cafe.

Rated PG. Run time 102 minutes. Tickets are available from the Museum Shop, or online, bookings essential.
