How do you make that tune? Talented musician and producer Ed Zuccollo will show you how! This workshop is your introduction to producing electronic music. You'll get to find out the basics of how a track is put together.

Ed will show you from the ground up how to construct a piece of dance music. He'll talk you through the elements needed, and play examples of each element. You'll be introduced to the software used in music production.

You'll get a rare insight into how Ed crafts his electronic dance music as Zuke. And you'll come away with knowledge of how to get started on your own production journey. No prior production experience? Absolutely no problem! This is designed to be accessible for newbies and previous sound creators alike.

'Bass-ics' is a series of one-off workshops by The Sensonauts for people to learn about electronic music in a fun, supportive environment. This will be a relaxed and interactive session where no question is silly, and women/femmes/non binary people are extremely welcome. The Sensonauts are passionate about increasing diversity in the electronic music scene.

Keyboardist and producer Ed Zuccollo is the keys player for band Kita, played for Trinity Roots and Tyson Smith, and has done session recording for artists from Thomas Oliver to Mel Parsons, and Electric Wire Hustle to Hollie Smith. His range and knowledge of vintage and classic keyboard instruments, synthesisers and effects make him versatile and unique in the performance and session recording industry. As well as performing in bands and as a solo act for many years, Ed has taught music courses, workshops and masterclasses. He produces and DJs bass music as Zuke, and has created solo shows including the immersive sound and light experience, Ed’s Room.

The Sensonauts are stoked to bring this workshop to Christchurch, which has previously sold out twice in Wellington.
