Instead of an Advent Calendar, we've got an Advent "Cabinet of Curiosity"! Actually, three cabinets - with items from our archives, not normally on display.
Each day the first visitor to the museum gets to put on the white gloves, unlock the cabinet, and unwrap that days curio. So far we've unwrapped a personal electric shock machine, a whalebone patu, handcuffs from the old Picton Gaol, and a bill from a swordfish! Descriptions on the wall are unveiled each day to give more information about the items on display.
Entry to the museum is just $5/adult or $1/child - or you can buy a "Curiosity Card" for $10/adult & $5/child, which allows unlimited entry to the museum during Advent 2020.
