Shorebird Centre Open Day

8am – 11am – Flora & Fauna Guides
Visit our trail and bird hides to learn more about the birds that call this area their home for all or part of the year and the plants that are especially adapted to live along the Shorebird Coast.

11am – Shorebird Centre Talk
Join us at the Pūkorokoro Miranda Shorebird Centre to hear Keith Woodley give his famous talk about the birds and the work that the Trust does on their behalf.

12pm – Weeding at the Shellbank
Join a group of Volunteers for a walk out to the shellbank to clear away the weeds in preparation for the arrival of the thousands of Arctic migrants that arrive here every summer. It’s a special place that very few people get to experience. Bring gardening gloves and a trowel if you have one.

Everyone is welcome to join us for part of the day or bring your lunch and spend the whole day here.
