Natural Born Storytellers: Childhood

Natural Born Storytellers is a fun, supportive and welcoming space for anyone – and that means absolutely anyone, no experience needed – to tell true stories. They may be funny, sad, touching or terrible, as long as they are true. Each night is themed with prepared storytellers, combined with stories from the audience.

In November we celebrate the joy, innocence and cheekiness of Childhood. Tell us about your childhood tribe and the adventures you got up to – or perhaps you have a child’s eye view of the incomprehensible world of adults!? Were you a prankster? An A-student? Or were you the shy one at the back of the class? Did you get your own back on a bully? Come and tell us about it. We are after the dares, dens and imaginary worlds from a magical time when you were young. You are welcome to listen or to tell.

As a bonus and to get us into the childhood vibe, llustrator and artisan dollmaker Hilary Tapper will be offering a free dollmaking workshop from 5pm. Hilary creates beautiful handmade Courage dolls and will provide all the material you need so that you can make one for yourself. Please note that the workshop is intended for adults (or the child within!) All are welcome at our Natural Born Storyteller evenings but please be aware that they often contain adult humour and content so you must decide if the evening is appropriate for your children.

The event is free - though we welcome koha so that Exchange Chch can continue to host creative community events.
