Join Doris de Pont, co-curator of Moana Currents: Dressing Aotearoa Now, on a journey through the history and background of the exhibition from the New Zealand Fashion Museum.

Looking through the lens of fashion, the exhibition Moana Currents considers the history of migration and cultural exchange, adaption, and adoption in the Pacific, Te Moana nui a Kiwa. Both the exhibition and publication document how these histories are seen in what we wear and how we adorn ourselves in Aotearoa today

During this tour Doris will unpick four garments; a dress by Trelise Cooper that harks back to the missionaries, a glamorous gown by Tukua Turia and Karen Walker that has its origins in the sampler, a hei tiki from Neil Adcock that can dance, and Steve Hall's urban lavalava - each with a unique back-story and place within the exhibition.
