Mayors Music Matinee

The Mayor’s Music Matinee series provides the opportunity to hear some of New Zealand’s finest musicians in the heart of Hamilton city. The concerts are proudly presented by Hamilton City Council and The University of Waikato’s Conservatorium of Music.

Each recital features performances by students and staff from the Conservatorium, which is renowned for its world-class tuition. With staff who are at the forefront of their fields nationally and benchmarked to top international levels, the Conservatorium attracts talented students seeking to learn from leading practitioners.

The Mayor’s Music Matinee gives the students and staff a channel to showcase their skills through live performance in the unique setting of Hamilton City Council’s Civic Reception Lounge. Come along and hear demanding masterpieces from history’s most celebrated composers and support New Zealand’s future virtuosos.
