Come along to celebrate the launch of "The Big Sister Project", recently written and published by a 24-year-old author, Ellie Bambury. The afternoon will be super-exciting, full of interactive presentations, Q&A's, guest speakers and giveaways!
There will also be discussions around the process of writing and self-publishing a book, and you'll have the opportunity to connect further with the author post-event to chat about your own writing journey if you're on that pathway!
The book is a memoir and follows Ellie's journey as an au pair in France in 2013, and her main aim is to help guide and prepare other young people to embark on similar journeys overseas. Ellie is currently in touch with a number of national and international au pair companies and will be able to provide useful information for those who are looking into either hosting or becoming au pairs.
However, the themes and ideas explored in the book, such as self-discovery, building relationships, navigating new environments, and independence, can relate to people from all walks of life.
One final thing, there will be an exciting announcement regarding upcoming events/workshops for young people coming up in the second half of the year, relating to the whole au pair experience!
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to engage in this event, whether you're a school/university leaver, a potential host family, a teacher, keen traveller, budding author, a nanny, a grandparent or aunty... the list is endless.
Come and enjoy some snacks and beverages with us as we navigate this exciting new venture together.
