Learn the traditional korowai weaving stitch. Join Hiria to create a small korowai art piece to put in a frame and take home to gift to your pēpi or whānau.

Hiria introduces the traditional stitch used to weave Korowai, feather preparation and attachment. Respected kaumatua, and Hiria’s Father, Sonny Niha will be present for the duration of the wānanga (workshop) to advise on tikanga (protocol) around Korowai. Upon closing he will karakia (bless) the tāonga that you create on the day.

We look forward to sharing, laughing, learning and whanaungatanga I waenganui I a tātou katoa.
No previous weaving experience is required. Bilingual. Basic Māori knowledge is helpful but not a requirement for attendees. All resources will be provided on the day.

Very limited spaces. Call to book: 09 892 4789
