The War Memorial Centre has a number of versatile spaces suiting a wide range of event needs. These are bookable as separate spaces or the entire complex can be hired altogether.
MAIN HALL
A versatile space that can accommodate many different events such as; conferences, award ceremonies, balls, exhibitions, concerts and wedding receptions.
Arrangements can be made for up to 900 theatre style, 1500 for a concert, or up to 400 in a formal dinner setting. Additionally, the space can easily be broken up in to smaller areas in order to suit any event requirement.
CONCERT CHAMBER
Fixed auditorium tiered seating for up to 300 and an open stage, the Concert Chamber is perfect for concerts, conferences and presentations. It has carpet underfoot and outstanding acoustics. It is also home to the Steinway grand piano, which can be rented as a part of venue hire.
PIONEER ROOM
Surrounded by the Pukenamu/Queen’s Park grounds, this room is flooded with natural light through it's large floor-to-ceiling windows. The generous layout of the room means that it is a hugely flexibly space that can host as little as 10, or up to 120 people.
There is access to the Kitchen, where there is an onsite chiller for food/beverage storage, a large commercial oven and dishwasher.
FORECOURT
Upon entry to the venue, a large forecourt greets you. This can accommodate up to 70 parked vehicles, but is also ideal for outdoor events including car shows, parades and festivals.
FOYERS
These spaces provide an abundance of natural light and are often paired with the Main Hall and/or Pioneer Room. They are perfect for registrations, meet and greets, buffet meal serving, or as a break out space.
