Cobblestones Museum is situated in the small Wairarapa town of Greytown, named after the first Governor of New Zealand, Sir George Grey. It is established on the historical land of the original coaching stable for Cobb & Co, the Wellington to Wairarapa mail and passenger service.
It has cobblestones in front of the stables, there is a corner store from 1874, a colonial cottage from 1862, the Wairarapa's first public hospital from 1875 and the first Methodist Church in Greytown built in 1865, a century-old gazebo, and a single-teacher school from 1902. It also features stationary engines, horse drawn vehicles, 'Pride of the Valley' - a 1906 horse drawn coach, a wishing well and stationary water wheel.
