The Barge Showgrounds Events Centre situated on State Highway 14, Maunu, Whangarei (a few minutes drive from Whangarei CPO) is a modern multi-purpose function centre designed to be flexible, with a dining capacity for up to 180 people. The building is fully air-conditioned. It features a large, light airy room that can be split by foldaway doors to form three smaller rooms. There is a small cafe room also used for meetings plus a fully functional, well equipped kitchen with a bar area. The building has been designed to cater for a wide variety of events from small committee meetings, to large conferences, seminars, weddings and social events. Set on 64 hectares of park like grounds, these can also be hired for outside events and activities.
