Auckland Live regrets to announce that due to Monday’s change in Covid-19 Alert Levels in Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau, the Fringe Town programme has been cancelled.
The Auckland Fringe Festival 2021 will continue to go ahead once alert levels allow. Auckland Live Fringe Town was scheduled to run from 15 – 21 February at the Auckland Town Hall as part of the festival.
Yesterday, ticket holders and those registered for Fringe Town performances SUSO Alumni, Barrier Ninja, Sorry for Your Loss, and Ceilidh at the Auckland Town Hall were advised those events had been cancelled.
Since we cannot anticipate changes to alert levels beyond Wednesday of this week, as a precaution, the remaining planned events, all of which were expected to attract large gatherings of artists and audiences, have been cancelled and ticket holders and those registered to attend have been notified.
These events are:
APO Open Rehearsal
Frnjam
KITA, Imugi & Zuke
Battlezone
Maimoa
Everybody Eats at Fringe Town
95bFM Kids Show Live From Aotea Square
Auckland Live and Auckland Conventions Venues & Events director, Robbie Macrae, says the organisation is working with all the Fringe Town artists to reschedule performances and events for later in the year.
He says it’s important to note that these cancellations do not affect the overall Auckland Fringe Festival which is scheduled to run until Saturday 6 March.
“If alert levels permit, we encourage you to book tickets and support the hundreds of artists who will hopefully be able to proceed with their shows in the weeks to come,” he says.
Refunds to individual ticket holders booked to attend a Fringe Town performance will be processed automatically. Please allow 10 – 14 working days. Ticket holders of tickets purchased from a Ticketmaster outlet should contact the Ticketmaster Customer Service Team and follow the instructions.
