Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer bring 'The Hella Mega' tour to New Zealand this November

In celebration of their highly-anticipated 'The Hella Mega' tour, three of rock music's heavy-hitters Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer will come together to tear up stages at Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium and Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium this November. Before their NZ dates though, they'll first be winding up concerts happening in Australia. The AU tour kicks off at Perth's HBF Park beforing heading to Melbourne's Marvel Stadium, Sydney's Bankwest Stadium and Suncorp Stadium.

Formed in 1986 in Berkeley, CA, Green Day is one of the world's best-selling bands of all time—having more than 70 million records sold and 10 billion cumulative audio/visual streams worldwide. Their 1994 breakout album 'Dookie' has been widely credited for popularising and reviving mainstream interest in punk-rock—catapulting a career-long run of #1 hit singles.

In 2004, Green Day released their rock opera 'American Idiot' which sold more than seven million copies in the US alone—taking home the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. Throughout their career, they have had ongoing gold and platinum accreditations for many of their releases. Their highly-acclaimed 'Dookie', '21st Century Breakdown' and 'Revolution Radio' owned NZ Chart's #1 spot whilst 'American Idiot' and 'Uno!' both peaked at #2. On the back of their tour announcement, Green Day released their 13th and most recent studio album 'Father Of All…'.

Multi-platinum selling Fall Out Boy have broken onto the alt-rock scene in the early 2000s. Since debuting, they have earned a loyal following of more than 19 million across social media. Last November 2019, they dropped their most recent studio album 'Greatest Hits: Believers Never Die – Volume Two'. This follows their seventh release 'Mania' (2018) which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and earned them a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Album. In NZ alone, the group have sold a staggering 660,000 albums and have garnered a whopping 66 million online streams.

Levelling out the all-star rock lineup are multi-award winning pop-rock gurus Weezer, who have recently previewed their forthcoming album 'Van Weezer' with a soaring new track 'The End of the Game'. Since their 1994 debut release 'Weezer' (also known as the 'Blue' album), they have sold over 35 million records worldwide. Their 14-album back catalogue has included acclaimed megahits 'Buddy Holly', 'Undone (The Sweater Song)', 'Say It Ain’t So', 'El Scorcho', 'Hash Pipe', 'Island In The Sun', 'Beverly Hills', 'Pork and Beans' amongst many others.

Joining them as special guests are New Zealand's very own indie-pop band The Beths, whose 2018 debut 'Future Hates Me (Dew Process)' was heralded as one of the year's stand-out music releases—with Pitchfork naming it as "one of the most impressive indie-rock debuts of the year." Within their spanning career, they have played major international festivals including 'The Great Escape', 'Pukkelpop', 'Green Man' and 'Splendour In The Grass'.

With Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer all on one stage, you're sure in for a pair of fist-pumping rock parties you wouldn't want to miss!
