Award-winning music virtuoso Ben Harper, together with his trusty band The Innocent Criminals, have an exhilarating run of shows lined-up across New Zealand this February 2020. They're set to play TSB Bowl of Brooklands in New Plymouth, Hagley Park North in Christchurch, Cargo Brewery in Queenstown, Logan Campbell Centre in Auckland, Church Road Winery in Napier, and Mount Park in Mt Maunganui. Performing as their special guest is award-winning, indie-rock artist Matt Corby.
After breaking the folk-rock scene, Ben Harper has traversed a myriad of musical landscapes in the three decades that he's been making music—from blues, rock and reggae to soul, funk and folk. Throughout his extensive career, he's released top-selling albums like 'Burn To Shine' (1999), 'Diamonds On The Inside' (2003), 'There Will Be Light' (2004), 'Childhood Home' (2014) as well as his latest 'No Mercy In This Land' (2018) with blues legendary singer, Charlie Musselwhite. With a back catalogue spanning 14 studio albums, Ben Harper is without question one of the most celebrated singer-songwriters of our generation.
The Innocent Criminals (whose members are Leon Mobley, Juan Nelson and Oliver Charles) have backed Harper for much of the journey. Tracing their roots back to 1993, the group have been involved in most of his projects. They have toured the globe nonstop—releasing a series of acclaimed albums and earning legions of fans, thanks to their explosive live performances.
