The Stranglers Head Back To New Zealand For Three Special Concerts In February 2020

English punk-rockers The Stranglers are heading back to New Zealand in February next year for three special concerts. With Aussie-based, Kiwi legends Mi-Sex in tow, they will launch the tour at Christchurch Town Hall, then will make their way to Wellington's The Opera House. The Auckland Town Hall will see the final show.

Get ready to sing-along to The Strangler's favourites like 'Golden Brown', 'Peaches', 'No More Heroes' and 'Skin Deep' to name a few. Mi-Sex will also play their hits like 'People', 'Computer Games', 'Blue Day', and 'But You Don't Care'.

Formed in 1974 in Guildford, England, The Stranglers' no bullsh*t attitude saw them embraced by the punk movement of the late '70s. They released their first three albums—'Rattus Norvegicus', 'No More Heroes' and 'Black And White'—all within an astonishing 13 months period, gaining hit singles like 'Peaches', 'No More Heroes' and 'Walk On By'.

More success was to follow with the likes of 'Always The Sun', 'Strange Little Girl' and the mercurial 'Golden Brown', amongst many others. Their eloquent and extensive catalogue now spans well over four decades. Throughout their lengthy career, the band have achieved 24 top 40 singles and 18 top 40 albums. With a highly original sound, combining a brilliant melodic touch with a genuine dark aggression and effortless cool, The Stranglers are now recognised as one of the most credible and influential bands to have emerged from the punk era.

Meanwhile, special guests Mi-Sex dropped the multi-platinum and award-winning debut LP, 'Graffiti Crimes' here in 1979. It was a collision of punk rock, new wave and dance to the top of the charts in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, Austria, and South Africa. Reformed and reimagined to honour the 40th Anniversary of the album, Mi-Sex features founding members Don Martin (bass) and Murray Burns (keys & synth), with Steve Balbi (vocals), James Van Cooper (guitar), and Jordan McDonald (drums).

Don't miss out on what will be a trio of electrifying shows with The Stranglers plus Mi-Sex next year February!
