Armed with his latest album 'You're Stronger Than You Know’, British music virtuoso James Morrison is set to captivate much-awaiting fans with an intimate one-off show at the Auckland Town Hall this September. Joining him as special guest are up-and-rising indie-pop quartet, alae.
Before his NZ date, he will first drop by Australia and play a lineup of heartfelt performances at Melbourne's The Forum, Wollongong's Anita's Theatre, Sydney's Enmore Theatre, Brisbane's Fortitude Music Hall and the Gold Coast's Home of the Arts.
Following the huge success of his 2015's 'Higher Than Here' album, Morrison came up with his fifth and most recent album 'You're Stronger Than You Know'—a catalogue of songs that are warm and positive, raw and honest. The record features massive tunes 'My Love Goes On (feat. Joss Stone)' and 'Glorious'. With nods to Van Morrison, Otis Redding, The Band, and Dusty Springfield, James has dished up a set of tunes inspired by classic soul, Stax and Motown, filtered through a distinctly British lens.
One of the most successful UK singer-songwriters of his era, he has released two UK #1 albums and five UK Top 10 singles, has won a BRIT Award for Best British Male, and has garnered over seven million record sales. His breakthrough hits include the classic 'You Give Me Something', 'Wonderful World' and the unforgettable Nelly Furtado collab 'Broken Strings'.
