Post Malone announces headlining concert in New Zealand this 2019

Multi-platinum artist and hip-hop icon Post Malone has announced his timely return to New Zealand with a two-night headline concert at Auckland's Spark Arena in May 2019. He will be joined by two of hip-hop's iconic artists Jaden Smith and Tyla Yaweh as support acts.

Before playing his hip-hop beats in NZ, Post Malone will first wind up his Australian tour. He'll be performing a mammoth run of shows Down Under, hitting Perth's RAC Arena, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena, Brisbane Entertainment Centre and Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena.

Post Malone stirs hip-hop, R&B, and alternative into his own sonic "sauce" that's both intoxicating and invigorating. "I describe what I do as sauce," he affirms. "You can turn up to it. You can chill to it. You can do anything to it. It makes you feel some type of way, or it makes you want to party. It just comes naturally."

The Dallas-born rapper grew up listening to his dad's Metallica, Johnny Cash, UGK, and The Notorious B.I.G. records. After graduating from high school and releasing his first mixtape online, he picked up and headed west to Los Angeles, then at 19 years old, Austin Richard Post (aka Post Malone) met production duo FKi and started making music. "I wanted to create something everybody can get down to and get drunk to," he continues. "People who like hip-hop will like it. People who like folk will dig it. People who like pop will be into it."

Post Malone's groundbreaking hit 'White Iversion' received rave reviews when he first uploaded it to SoundCloud. Before he knew it, the budding star had Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller tweeting him and Complex, Noisey, The Fader and Hypebeast singing his praises. Since then, he had 14 incendiary SXSW performances under his belt, and major labels knocking at his door. The ethereal soundscape of 'White Iverson' gives way to a charismatic and catchy declaration for Post.

His uncanny ability to cook up a 21st century "sauce" of genres transformed the multi-platinum Dallas, TX maverick into the #1 Debut Hip-Hop Artist of 2016, following the release of his RIAA double-platinum certified full-length debut album 'Stoney'. Apparently, his music recipe has yielded massive success so far.

After signing to Republic Records in August 2015, Post immediately hit the studio to work on more music. Incorporating not only his inimitable voice but his production and instrumentation, it's as enigmatic and enthralling as he is. His sophomore release 'Beerbongs & Bentleys' arrived earlier this year and broke Spotify's streaming records, clocking up more than 78.7 million streams on its release day and consequently set fire to chart records everywhere, including one held by The Beatles since 1964.

With 'Beerbongs & Bentleys'' string of bonafide hits including 'Psycho' and 'Rockstar'—the latter of which hit No. 1 on the NZ Singles Chart, went four-times platinum and accumulated over one billion streams on Spotify—Post has totally captivated Kiwi fans.

May next year will be your only chance to see Post Malone dominate the NZ stage with his brand new music, so don't dare miss out!
