The Minimalists duo hits the Auckland stage this March

American authors and public speakers Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus, known as The Minimalists, are bringing their 'Less Is Now' tour to NZ shores, hitting the Auckland stage for the first time this March.

The dynamic duo will present an in-depth talk about minimalism and record a live version of their wildly successful podcast series 'The Minimalists Podcast'. When they were twenty something, suit clad and upwardly mobile, best friends Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus (both now aged 36) thought they had everything anyone could ever want… until they didn't want any of it anymore.

"By the time they were 28, they had everything they thought they wanted: the six-figure salary, the luxury cars, the designer clothes, the big suburban house with more toilets than people." - The New York Magazine

When Joshua was blindsided by the loss of his mother and his marriage and Ryan was faced with crippling debt and depression, they began questioning every aspect of the lives they had built for themselves. Then they discovered a lifestyle known as Minimalism—and everything began to change.

In the pursuit of looking for something more substantial than compulsory consumption and the broken American Dream, Joshua and Ryan both walked away from six-figure careers and embarked on a new journey.

"We're not talking about an easy life, but a simple one." - The Minimalists

Since embracing simplicity as a lifestyle, they have written three books, including the best selling memoir 'Everything That Remains', launched a No. 1 Podcast, co-founded Asymmetrical Press which is a publishing house for the indie at heart, embarked on a 100-city international speaking tour and spoken at Harvard Business School, Apple, SXSW, TEDx and many other organisations and conferences. Their new film 'Minimalism: A Documentary About The Important Things' was the no. 1 indie documentary of 2016.

Joshua and Ryan have garnered an audience of more than four million readers at their website where they write about living a meaningful life with less stuff. Their story has been featured in Time Magazine, People, Forbes, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, LA Weekly and several other outlets.
