Thomas Oliver Announces Floating In the Darkness Tour this May

Wellington-based singer-songwriter, Thomas Oliver, is about to embark on his Floating In The Darkness tour this May.

Thomas Oliver's eight-date tour will kick off in Auckland before heading down to Leigh, Christchurch and Wellington where he will be joined by his full band. His string of solo shows will start off in Takaka, Queenstown, Invercargill and Dunedin.

Internationally recognised as one of the world’s leading players of the Weissenborn lap steel guitar, Thomas Oliver is set to release his first solo of lyrical songs featuring his Silver-Scroll award-winning hit, “If I Move To Mars' along with his third single, 'Losin' from his upcoming album release. The bones of this soulful new offering carry the feeling of when someone you love slips away.

Floating In The Darkness is a deep and raw, reflective body of work, largely self-produced, written and mixed by Thomas himself, with an additional soul-stirring collaboration with renowned producer and composer, Rhian Sheehan ("Let It Be This One"), input from Grammy Award-winning mix engineer, Trina Shoemaker, and mastering by Vlado Meller.

With over two million views on his YouTube channel, Thomas has developed a worldwide audience and has performed across the globe. He has shared the stage with such legends as Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton and Fat Freddy's Drop.

Thomas sees the songs on Floating In The Darkness as an intimate and honest reflection of himself: "a product of a whole lot of searching for the magic zone."
