Sons of a Bitch and Mel Parsons Returns For A North Island Woolshed Tour

Sons of a Bitch and Mel Parsons returns with a brand new show that will tour North Island Woolshed, from October 19 to November 13.

It follows their smash-hit sell-out tour The Bitches' Box and Mel Parsons of the South Island earlier this year and promises to be an unmissable evening of music, theatre and comedy, complete with BBQ and bar.

Each show will be preceded by a fundraiser BBQ run by the local school or community group - come hungry and support your local kids! A cash bar serving beer and Allan Scott wines will also be open throughout the evening.

Travelling by trusty horse truck (and carting a bar, seating, stage curtain, props, full production equipment and crew along for the ride) the talented trio will capture audiences once reserved for the likes of the Topp Twins, Fred Dagg, and Murray Ball, transforming working wool sheds throughout heartland New Zealand into real-life show spaces for an unforgettable night in the country.

Sons of a Bitch: From the makers of The Bitches' Box comes a hilarious new show featuring a swag of delightful (and disgusting) dogs. Country bumpkin Amelia Dunbar and city slicker Emma Newborn once again take to the stage, in an attempt to bridge the urban/rural divide the only way they know how - by playing dogs. Join them as they present their signature, fast paced, multi-character, new show Sons of a Bitch. The sidesplitting sequel to the 5-star gem ‘The Bitches’ Box’ - a hit with audiences from Edendale to Edinburgh, from wool sheds to glittering festivals worldwide.

Mel Parsons: After a huge year in 2015, this award-winning folk/country artist brings us a new solo show following on from her critically acclaimed new album Drylands. Winner of the 2016 NZ Country Song of the Year, Mel Parsons was also a 2015 finalist for the prestigious APRA Silver Scroll Award and is a cast member of Fly My Pretties. With a razor sharp wit and deft hand on the guitar, one of NZ’s favourite globe-trotting singer-songwriters presents a swag of new songs (plus old favourites) to fall in love.
