The Auckland Darts Masters, which will be held August 28 - 30 at Trusts Arena in Henderson, went on sale Wednesday morning and the response was overwhelming. The Eventfinda site was temporarily stalled due to the huge number of ticket purchasers trying to buy simultaneously, causing delays for many customers.
The issues have been resolved and Eventfinda staff members are contacting customers individually to make sure their ticket needs have been met.
Trusts Arena has a seating capacity of 5000 per day for the event and is not yet fully booked.
The new PDC World Series of Darts event features stars including World Champion Gary Anderson, world number one Michael van Gerwen and the legendary 16-time World Champion Phil Taylor competing alongside eight Oceanic qualifiers across three days.
Former World Champions Raymond van Barneveld, Adrian Lewis and Stephen Bunting, eight-time major title winner James Wade and 2014 World Championship finalist Peter Wright complete the line-up of eight Professional Darts Corporation stars competing in the Auckland Darts Masters.
The tournament's first round will see them drawn against the eight Oceanic qualifiers, before the remaining players return to the stage to play off for the title.
It is the first time that Auckland has been included in the PDC World Series of Darts and it will be televised live worldwide.
