NZ Fringe Festival Announces Award Winners

NZ Fringe festival has announced the winners of its festival awards, in a ceremony that marked the 25th anniversary of the festival.

The winners were announced on Saturday at Wellington's St Peter's Church.

The big winner of the evening with six awards was Wake Up Tomorrow, a show created by Active youth with production company Everybody Cool Lives Here. Wake Up Tomorrow won Best Theatre - Ensemble, Best Production Design, Best Director (Isobel MacKinnon), Outstanding Ensemble (tied with Jingles - The Musical by Out of Bounds), Outstanding Performer (Nick Smith) and the coveted Best in Fringe.

Footnote New Zealand Dance's ChoreoCo also took home a few awards.
