Action Bronson New Zealand Tour
Hailing from Queens, NYC rapper Action Bronson has announced he will be returning to New Zealand with two shows in April.

An ex-chef whose song titles and lyrics often reference his love of cuisine, Bronson first gained popularity in 2011 when he released two EPs and two mixtapes. The rapper has since gone on to collaborate with Earl Sweatshirt and Riff Raff, and Party Supplies, who produced his mixtapes Blue Chips and Blue Chips 2.

With his debut album set for release sometime this year, audiences at Studio and Bodega are sure to get a preview of what is to come from the musician.

The rapper first visited Wellington in 2013 and was a headliner of Eminem's Rapture festival in February.

Wednesday 23 April - Bodega - Wellington.
Thursday 24 April - Studio the Venue - Auckland.

PRESS RELEASE:

The ginger rap-genius of Albanian ancestry is set to return to New Zealand this April. Action Bronson has become one of hip hop’s most charismatic and colourful characters over the past two years. And New Zealand has the pleasure of catching this 28-year old Queens native for two shows in Auckland and Wellington.

Off the back of an impressive Rapture tour through Australasia with Eminem, Action Bronson has been hailed by The New York Times as “one of the most promising prospects in New York hip-hop.”

Born with the name Ariyan Arslani, Action Bronson grew up with a fascination for quality eating and consequently, songs in his discography often read like menu items: “Roasted Bone Marrow,” “Pouches of Tuna,” “Jerk Chicken,” “Ceviche.” Rolling Stone, appreciating the theme, described Bronson’s music as “the ultimate in comfort food, with a contemporary twist.”

The ravenous musical connoisseur grew up admiring artists like Kool G. Rap, Cam’ron and Mobb Deep, he never contemplated rapping himself. The ex-chef penned his first rap song in 2009 - a satirical song over a Southern beat CD and the results were impressive. With a penchant for flamboyant phraseology and an oversized personality, Action Bronson has gained world-wide recognition in a very short space of time.

In 2011 alone, he released Bon Appetit….Bitch!, The Program EP, Dr. Lecter and Well Done. 2012 introduced collaborations with artists like Earl Sweatshirt, Riff Raff and SpaceGhostPurp, as well as Blue Chips, the brilliant street album produced by Party Supplies. In August of 2012, Bronson signed with Vice/Warner Bros Records. His latest collection, 'Blue Chips 2' with Party Supplies dropped in October 2013. Watch out 2014.

This rapper is hot as a habanero right now. He sold out his last shows in New Zealand - get in quick as these shows will sell out.

Tickets are on sale from Friday via Dash Tickets and all usual outlets.
